When Joshua and Bonnie met in a Christian Mingle in the summer of 2014, no one would have guessed they would end up getting married. It was Joshua who had kicked it off by telling Bonnie of his desire to know her more. Their phone conversations before he moved to AZ were close to 2-3 hours each time! They both found it so easy to talk to one another.
After dating a year and six months, Joshua took Bonnie on an amazing date in Scottsdale where he surprised Bonnie with a much-awaited marriage proposal. In what would seem like a convergence of fate, Joshua’s favorite football team, The Broncos won the Super Bowl day after, just when Bonnie was getting used to wearing her new ring. It would seem like it had all be choreographed, but again what do you call it? Luck?
The wedding was at Bonnie’s family church where her dad is the pastor. As expected, the local congregation together with invited guests had the privilege of gracing the occasion. Here they witnessed the bride and groom exchange their vows while adorning Kate Spade inspired wedding colors. The bridesmaids wore black-and-white dresses with yellow accents.
A small get-together followed the ceremony. It involved snacking on cupcakes before they left for the reception in a 1960s white Rolls Royce. The reception could not have been better! As Bonnie danced away in her father’s hands, they were joined by her mother to complete a dancing trio that went on to thrill the crowd of attendees. It would have been unthinkable if the throng of nieces and nephews would have been left behind. After all, they were part of the wedding. They did a teddy bear toss, the same way as the garter toss but this time for kids, if only to make them feel a part of it all.
At the reception, in the place of a wedding cake, they had a dessert bar that included fruit tarts, cheesecake, cake pops, and yummy desserts. When it came to the bouquet toss event, Bonnie decided not to throw the bouquet. Instead, she took the bouquet and gave it to her mom as a gift for being her best friend.
At the end of it all, the sparkle with which they exited was to cap a reception in which Bonnie and Joshua’s pictures decorated the tables. What a wedding!
