When we first sat down with Megan and Alex over a year ago, we loved their story and immediately felt connected with them. Our connection was so strong, that we all immediate started planning their Engagement Session even when they hadn’t booked their wedding photography with us yet! They told us all about how they met sitting next to each other on a delayed flight home for Christmas during college. How they found out they were both attending Grand Canyon University and shared many common interests.
They told us about how both went their separate ways for their holiday break, but once they returned to Grand Canyon University, they became inseparable. After 2 years of adventures, support and fun, Alex got down on one knee while visiting family in Chicago for New Years and popped the question; that was the beginning of their forever.
From the start of their wedding planning process Megan and Alex knew what they wanted. They were steadfast in wanting their wedding to show their families and friends the reasons why they love living in Arizona. They really wanted to find a venue that showcased the beauty of the Arizona Desert. When they first visited
The Paseo Wedding Venue, they felt instantly in love. They knew right away that it was the perfect location to start their lives together as husband and wife. Because both of them were originally from the Northwest and Midwest parts of the country, they wanted their families to experienced The beauties of the Sonoran Desert in the Spring; when you can enjoy amazing weather and days with temperatures in the mid 70’s .
It was so sweet to witness the Daddy First look between Megan and her Dad. Being the only girl in her family, this moment was extra special. Tears of joy were shown by both of them and Travis and I couldn’t help it either. Megan and Alex also shared a First Look moment. Megan’s bridesmaids sneaked in to see this moment and Travis captured their excitement and emotion too. It was at Megan and Alex’s wedding that we had our first opportunity to photograph a real wedding at The Paseo and it was just amazing! This venue has wonderful Desert backdrops and the light at Golden Hour is a dream for any photographer.
One of the best parts of the day was Megan and Alex’s First Dance. What made it so special was the fact that Alex wrote and sang and recorded the song they danced to. It was such an incredible song, BIG high fives to Alex on that one!! This was, hands-down, one the most thoughtful things we have seen a groom do for his bride on their wedding day.
As you look at these wedding images, we hope you appreciate them as much as we did! Megan and Alex smiles and their joy are contagious!!! We want to thank our bride and groom for including us in their big day and allowing us to help tell their “love story”.
